How to Create a Successful Home Page?
A lot of people wants to created homepages but
they keep asking themselves one question: “How do I start?”
Today I am going to tell some of the basic methods to make a successful page that attract
people.
Step One: Think of a topic
Before starting your page think of a new topic for your page. A different theme that is
quite catchy and new. Write everything down on a piece of paper. Make a chart of what you
will do on the page. Your topics and sub-topics. Make sure that you are different.
Research your theme!

Two: Web Page Design
When you think web-design think easy and simple. here are some of the thinking that you
should avoid:
- Don’t over use graphics
- Don’t use sound embedded files (they slow
does the computer)
- Use white background (avoid busy background)
- Check your page for spelling mistakes.
Double check each step twice if you need to.
Even though most visitors do not check for spelling and stuff like that, but these thing
are very important in creating a professional looking page. A simple looking page is
better than a page with lots of graphics that takes forever to load.
Step Three: Under
construction Pitfall
“This Page is Under Heavy Construction”, this is one of the deadly pitfalls that
most of us falls into. Make sure to post your page once it is done. Do not have an under
construction page, visitors will just leave. If you are so eager to have your page on line
then start small and keep on adding new material to your page. That way it will stay
fresh. Step Four: Second Opinion
Ask someone you trust to look at your page and give you their opinion. You have to
understand that you are not the only visitor of your page, and the page is not yours,
other people will look at it. So a second opinion is very important and valuable.
Final Step: Check everything
Ok now that you have your page ready, double check everything on your page. Here is a list
of stuff to check:
- Check for dead links
- Check for broken images
- Check spelling and grammar mistakes.
